J.Dilla is my favorite all time producer that upon hearing his music and work he inspired me the most and broke all the rules on hip hop production from non-quantitizing to his taste on sampling of not just old school music but relevent music such as stereolab. And the fact that he is a fellow Detroiter made him an even bigger influence and for giving the Motor City a distinct hip hop sound that has influenced people all over the world and is the most imitated.
